Welcome to Bees Haven, a bee-friendly gardening site built for anyone who wants to make a difference in their yard. Whether you’re working with a balcony or a full backyard, we’ll help you grow with purpose.

There’s a lot of talk about saving the bees, but what does that actually mean? At Bees Haven, we’re here to make that question easier to answer, one season at a time.

This blog is for people who want to grow things that help pollinators. You can do it even if they don’t have a big yard, a perfect garden, or expert-level skills. We’ll cover native plants, easy changes you can make outdoors, and surprising things you might already be doing that support pollinator health without even realizing it.

You don’t need a meadow or a beekeeping setup to help pollinators. A few plants on a patio, a water dish on a balcony, or a small container garden can make a real difference. Whether you’re working with a backyard in the suburbs or a single windowsill, Bees Haven is here to show you how to create pollinator-friendly spaces that actually fit your life.

Not Just Bees

Bees are a big focus, but when we say “bee,” we also talk about butterflies, hoverflies, hummingbirds, moths, ants, and other often-overlooked pollinators. Each plays a role in helping gardens and landscapes thrive. And each faces growing challenges from habitat loss to pesticides to climate disruption.

That’s where we come in.

You’ll find practical, seasonal tips in four main categories:

  • Bee Facts: Learn how bees behave, communicate, and survive in today’s world.
  • Bee Needs: Understand what pollinators actually require—food, water, shelter, and space.
  • Gardens That Attract Bees: Get planting guides, layout ideas, bloom calendars, and no-spray tips.
  • Sustainability: Explore small, doable changes that make your yard or neighborhood more pollinator-friendly.
  • Pest Management: Learn about bee-friendly pest control, IPM and more.
